The Company

Our client enjoys the distinction of being one of the world's largest manufacturers of wrot copper fittings. It's also recognized as a versatile supplier of custom fabricated tubular products to original equipment manufacturers in several industries, including automotive, air conditioning and refrigeration.

The Position

In a strategic, highly visible role for an international and growing company, the Vice President of Engineering will manage all engineering aspects of the development of product, process and capital equipment, ensuring that cost and quality levels provide the company with a true competitive advantage. This senior, corporate-level leader will have multi-facility oversight, with a compensation package in exceeding $150K and further growth potential both horizontally and vertically.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership and development of the engineering staff.
  • Product Development/Launch, developing a sound process for timely & proficient execution.
  • Plan and execute Capital Projects.
  • Compile, plan and manage Capital Budgets.
  • Lean Manufacturing initiative leadership – continuous improvement in product and process, value stream mapping.
  • Work effectively with peers on a cross-functional and international basis.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering & operational experience and leadership in multi-facility, metal manufacturing environment.
  • A thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment in connection with product design and production.
  • Extensive & successful product development/launch experience.
  • Proven capital project leadership, tool design experience, automation/robotics understanding.
  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify opportunities for process & procedure improvement, and to plan and drive significantly improved results through Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership, performance management, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Budgetary responsibility and understanding of P&L/financial statements.
  • Minimum BS in Engineering/Technology/Service
