Title: Sales and Marketing Manager
Position Summary: Opportunity to have full responsibility to build an aggressive, professional sales force to continue the company’s leadership market position with the objective of dominating the New England Marketplace.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing and driving an existing sales force in a proven residential sales environment.
- Improving and measuring the volume of leads.
- Identifying and establishing the methodology to penetrate new market segments.
- Networking and establishing new business relationships.
- The candidate must be familiar with marketing a consumer driven product and demonstrate a high level of creativity, strong communication skills, and computer skills.
- This position requires travel within the Greater Boston area, and sometimes long hours, including evenings and weekends, are common. The Sales & Marketing Manager will work with the President and Director of Marketing to coordinate the company’s market research and marketing strategy, while focusing on sales, pricing, business development, and public relations activities. Their objective is to direct the firm’s sales program by managing sales personnel (recruiting, training, assigning territories, setting goals, and establishing policies and procedures) and to grow the company’s profit margin through sales initiatives, statistical analysis to determine sales potential, and lead generation. In addition, the Sales & Marketing Manager must maintain a high level of customer service within the company and monitor customers’ preferences. Such information is vital in the development of sales and the maximization of profits.
- Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, and maintaining well-organized documentation and reports utilizing company systems. The Sales and Marketing Manager will lead event, sales, marketing and other staff meetings. The successful candidate must be a demonstrated team player.
Position Requirements:
- Five-plus years of Sales and Marketing management experience, including hiring and development of sales personnel
- Prior experience selling direct to consumers
- Incentive Compensation driven – Money motivated.
- P&L experience a plus
- Possess a strong ethical background
- Ability to train and motivate sales force
- Building Materials sales process a plus
- Experience in the flooring business a plus
- Must be highly organized
- Must have knowledge of lead generation selling process
- Experience with marketing direct to consumers
- CRM process and tools
- Residential construction knowledge a plus
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Self-starter and self-motivated professional with high ethical standards and leadership skills and qualities
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Excellent computer skills a must
- Team player with a positive attitude and innovative ideas
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree a MUST. MBA preferred.
