Position Summary: The VP Operations / COO has overall responsibility for Manufacturing, Quality, Assembly, Shipping, and Establishment of Metrics.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Achieve immediate and significant improvements in output and productivity
  • Drive a continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale through implementation of an established Lean Manufacturing program.
  • Lead, manage and develop the production and operations staff.
  • Work effectively with leaders in the areas of Safety, Quality, Environment, Materials Management, Engineering, Maintenance, Tooling, Shipping and Receiving.
  • Prepare the annual operating budget in accordance with established volume forecasts and agreed continuous improvement goals. Manage and control spending to budget, with timely identification of deviations from budget, and rapid implementation of appropriate countermeasures.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company standards, and with Federal, State and local regulation.
Position Requirements:
  • A successful track record of Lean Manufacturing implementation resulting in performance improvement and maximized profit potential, preferably in a financially leveraged environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to retain and manage an effective management team in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong operations experience including cost control and operational systems
  • Strong strategic business analysis and problem solving capabilities
  • 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience and responsibilities, including process improvement and capital projects.
  • A thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment in connection with product construction and design.
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
    Demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify opportunities for improvement, and to plan and drive significantly improved results.
Education Requirements:
4 year degree required – engineering or technical degree preferred. MBA highly desirable.
