National Sales Manager

Responsible for the development of sales staff and business opportunities to progressively expand market share in all product categories.  Serve as a hands-on leader to inspire, motivate and lead the sales organization.  Execute the strategic business plan to increase market share, revenue and profitability.  Identify new and existing channels and non-traditional channels of business and identify new products and product extensions.  Drive portfolio strategy with President.  Develop and cultivate dynamic customer relationships, along with generating effective interrelationships between functional supporting staff and the sales team.  Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, high attention to detail and strong sense of urgency.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Major objectives – i.e. % sales increase, decreased lead time
  • Able to promote strong growth in eastern US due to adding an east coast facility
  • Direct all sales activity for the achievement of short and long term business objectives, increased market share and revenue growth
  • Responsible for preparing the annual sales strategy for entire product portfolio
  • Responsible for aligning sales territories and personnel for maximum effectiveness
  • Develop sales commissions, incentives and rewards to motivate direct and indirect sales staff
  • Oversee recruitment and qualifications of new customers and assigned sales territories
  • Supports and develops pricing and bundling options and proposals
  • Assess and analyze current and potential buying groups
  • Preparation of annual sales plan in conjunction with senior management staff
  • Responsible for compiling competitive analysis (prices, strategies, strengths, market share, weakness, etc.)

Position Requirements:

  • Sales Forecasting on an annual and quarterly basis
  • Maintain and increase gross profit margins
  • Developing and establishing display programs
  • Developing and establishing volume rebate programs
  • Developing and improving customer loyalty programs
  • Ability to sell value over price – features and benefits
  • Strong strategic planning and execution excellence
  • Ability to deal with all levels of management customers (internal / external) and the ability to forge relationships with key stakeholders to mutual benefit
  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills with the ability to represent company image internally and externally in a professional manner
  • Minimum 10 years industry (plumbing or HVAC) experience in sales management
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
